Kielbasa with Apples and Sauerkraut PDF Print E-mail
Written by early_liberty

INGREDIENTS:

1 ring of kielbasa, or enough links to serve each person

1 can or pouch of sauerkraut

1 fresh apple, peeled, cored, and cut in chunks, or ½ cup dried apple chunks

1 ½ tablespoon dark brown sugar

1 large unpeeled potato cut in chunks.

METHOD:

Using a pressure cooker, place all ingredients into pot.

Cover and cook for 5 minutes after pressure raises, according to manufacturers instructions.

Expel steam per manufacturer.

Carefully open lid.

This is an easy one pot dish that will serve 2 generous portions. Increase ingredients for more as needed. As an alternative to the Kielbasa, one can use country style pork spare ribs or bratwurst. A regular pot with a tight lid can be used if a pressure cooker isn’t on board. In this case, heat on low temperature until everything is warmed through, approx. 10 minutes.
